Insoluble vs Soluble Fiber - Foods High In Fiber

Fiber is a carbohydrate that can not be digested. It passes through your body intact, cleaning your intestines as it goes through. It acts as a scrub brush for the intestines. It is only found in plant foods -- no animal products consist of fiber -- such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, seeds and nuts.

Dietary fiber is made up of two types - insoluble and soluble. Both types of fiber go undigested. Therefore, they are not absorbed into the bloodstream. Instead of being used for energy, fiber is excreted.

Fiber Foods List

  • Insoluble fiber:
    • Does not dissolve in water
    • Keeps bowel movements regular because it absorbs water and makes stools softer
    • Moves bulk through the intestines
    • Delays glucose absorption
    • Removes toxic waste from colon
    • Helps forestall colon cancer by balancing the pH level
    • Speeds up the movement of food in the digestive tract
    • Helps forestall hemorrhoids and diverticulosis

Laxatives to Lose Weight

If you need to lose weight laxatives can be a great alternative, it's relatively uncostly and works. So many have so many different opinions about losing weight by taking laxatives, I however when I was in the Army decided to use this approach. It worked for me and I will share with you how I did it. The first thing I did before Pt was take a laxative, then we would practice and then I would eat morning meal I then took someone else one for lunch and then with my evening meal. So here are some easy instructions that you can use and you may potential have to tweak it to get it customized to fit your lifestyle or needs. If you upon awakening take a laxative then have your normal meal, you will see the weight start to roll off. In order for the laxatives to work, you must devise a plan. For instance you should at least take a laxative before every meal, so if you eat three times a day then take a laxative before each of the meals that you take, that way everything you eat will be released.

You have to be sure to drink a lot of water because the bowel movements may be loose and cause you to lose body hydration. The key is to be able to take the laxatives in a safe way and be able to lose weight and declare your body's elasticity so that it's not depleted of its natural water sources. someone else way that you can use laxatives to lose weight is to naturally take one in the morning when you wake up and in the evening before you go to bed. If you choose to do it this way then you need to make sure that you are ready to be awakened in the nighttime. The main thing to know when taking a laxative to lose weight is to be sure that you have something in your system; no matter how slight it is, just have something that can come out.

In 1990, I lived in a garage with my dog, skis, climbing gear, bicycle and two trumpets. The inspiration to create an energy bar occurred during a day-long, 175-mile ride with my buddy, Jay. We'd been gnawing on some other energy bars. Suddenly, despite my hunger, I couldn't take another bite. That's the moment I now call the epiphany. Two years later, after countless hours in Mom's kitchen, Clif Bar became a reality. And the mission to create a better-tasting energy bar was accomplished. Thanks, Mom! Clif Bar has grown since 1990, and still the spirit of adventure that began on that ride continues to thrive each day. As the company evolves, we face many choices, yet we always do our best to take care of our people, our community and our environment. - Gary, owner of Clif Bar.
